Prof. Dr. Leman Figen Gül

Istanbul Technical University

Dr.Gül is a Professor of Architecture in the Department of Architecture and Architectural Design Computing Program at Istanbul Technical University since 2014. She was awarded several research projects 1001 and 1002 grands funded by TÜBİTAK and BAP and International Research Projects funded by ITU and Erasmus+ KA203 project. She was awarded the University of Newcastle Early Career Researcher Grant, the New Staff Grant, two travel grants,

and she worked in a WorkCover Assist Applied Research Project funded by WorkCover Authority of New South Wales, Australia. She was visiting scholar of Macquarie University, Australia in 2018. She has extended her research interest to various interdisciplinary areas of design and technology. Her research interests includes game and serious games in heritage context, the use of virtual-world technology in the construction industry, virtual environments, augmented reality, artificial intelligence as design assistance, navigation, human design behaviour, collaborative design and cognitive design studies.

Assoc. Prof. Derya Güleç Özer

Istanbul Technical University

After receiving her undergraduate degree from METU, her master’s degree from Gazi University, and her Ph.D. from ITU’s Architectural Computing Department, Dr. Özer continued her post-doctoral studies at MIT, Boston in 2015, where she conducted digital heritage research. Her research interests include architectural education, computer-aided design, digital heritage studies, robotics, and sustainability. Dr. Özer continues to teach at the Architectural Computing Program at Istanbul Technical University.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Elif Sezen Yağmur Kilimci

Istanbul Technical University

She plans, designs, and oversees the construction of buildings. To practice, architecture means to provide services in connection with the creation of buildings and the space within the site surrounding the buildings that have human occupancy or use as their purpose.

Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Emirhan Coşkun

Haliç Üniversitesi

His master’s degree focused on agent-based systems and urban games. During her Ph.D. studies, he completed a dissertation titled “A Computer Game-Based Model for Basic Design Education,” which proposed a learning framework for basic design studio education. Her areas of expertise include game technologies, game engines, game production, serious games in education, gamification, and related fields.

Prof. Dr. Murat Gül

Istanbul Technical University

Prof. Dr. Murat Gül has been working as a professor at the Department of Architecture at ITU since 2014 and served as the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at ITU between 2017 and 2023. Gül has three books, The Emergence of Modern Istanbul: Transformation and Modernisation of a City (IB Tauris, London) published in 2009, Istanbul Architecture

(Watermark Press, Boorowa) co-authored with Trevor Howells in 2013, and Architecture and the Turkish City: An Urban History of Istanbul since the Ottomans (IB Tauris, London) published in 2017. Gül has various articles and studies in the fields of architecture, cities, and conservation. Gül, who is a member of the editorial board of various international academic journals, a member of the evaluation board of international research projects, and a member of the scientific evaluation board of official institutions, has recently served as the head of the jury in several architecture and design competitions.
